8th August 1955: Sam finds himself in the body of Jessie Tyler, an old African-American man living in the Deep South town of Red Dog, Alabama. Having outraged the locals by taking a seat in an all-white diner, Sam then learns that he is chauffeur to Miz Melny Trafford, a well-respected elderly widow of the governor of the state. In a time before the advent of the Civil Rights movement, Sam soon comes face-to-face with bigotry, hatred and violence; he tries to convince Miz Melny to change her views on racism – only to learn that she is to be killed by a speeding passenger train the next day…
